  1. This type of lift configuration would be awesome for adaptation to electric cars. Imagine pulling up in a fully charged Tesla and having these rotors latch to your wheels. All of the flight avionics and electrical power could be supplied by the car. This would also allow you to fly somewhere, land, then proceed to drive to the exact location.

    Once energy density of batteries gets much better maybe this will be possible.

  2. Outstanding report & concepts. My only hope is, when this technology is developed for consumer use- a method
    of communication safety will be foolproof, as some of the same people who have not mastered the simple task of using blinkers while driving cars will be navigating above our homes & our heads.

  3. How I see this:
    A square wheel was invented long time ago. There were many attempts to build a square-wheeled bicycle and all of them failed. But modern technology finally allowed to build one! Using carbon fibre composite frame and unconventional suspension, the engineers created a model with 5 kg payload capacity. Yes, it still barely moves but it has such a high potential and has some advantages on difficult terrain.

  4. I have seen wind power generators using this same design at the college in my hometown. It is genius as it doesn't matter which way the wind blows it always works.
